The fatty acids can easily penetrate the hair shaft and are able to repair any damage done to the hair follicles. THose experiencing hair loss can also benefit greatly from the use of argan oil and it’s enriching properties.

How to Enjoy Argan Oil Benefits

Published by on November 18th, 2011

Enjoying argan oil benefits is easy once you know how it works. The first thing for you to do is choose the product to use.

If you wish to use raw argan oil as a beauty product, buy a cosmetic grade product and not a culinary one. The nuts used in cooking argan oil are roasted to bring out their flavor and are not suited for beauty products. The nuts used for skin and hair are left raw to conserve essential fatty acids and nourishing vitamins. When choosing the oil, go for dark colored glass bottles instead of clear, plastic ones, this helps preserve the beneficial properties of the oil.

Now, how to enjoy argan oil benefits? By correct usage of course! Here are some tips on using argan oil in order to make the most of it’s amazing properties.

Hair

Argan oil is well known for nourishing and strengthening hair as well as promoting shine and health. Your scalp will benefit from this oil also, stimulating hair growth and getting rid of dryness. For an intensive hair treatment, add a large amount of oil to your dry locks, starting at the ends and then wrap in a warm towel, leaving it overnight or for 30 mins. Wash your hair and style it as normal.

If you suffer from dandruff or a dry scalp, massage the oil into the roots. Do this once or twice weekly and enjoy softer, smoother and healthier hair. Frizz can further be eliminated by just adding a drop of oil to your locks.

Face

Argan oil is an excellent moisturizer for skin. You can begin by using it at night and then progress if you see that your skin requires more hydration, using the oil twice a day. A gentle evening massage is supremely beneficial for all skin types, and it there are areas of your face that are drier or more wrinkle-prone, just apply a drop on those areas. Since argan oil is quite light and penetrates easily, you don’t have to worry about the eye area or looking greasy after application.

Body

Treat yourself to a relaxing and firming massage of argan oil on your entire body. Argan oil is easily absorbed by the skin and it provides a deep hydration, making it perfect for reducing and preventing stretchmarks. Use the oil after showering to improve elasticity and to nourish your skin.

When to Use Argan Morroccan Oil

Published by on November 2nd, 2011

What is argan oil? This oil is extracted from the seeds of the argan tree which is found in Southwestern Morocco. It is popular due to its many benefits for hair, skin and even diet, but since the oil is so difficult to extract it can often come at a high price.

Argan oil is naturally high in essential fatty acids and vitamin E, making it an excellent soothing treatment for skin, nourishment for hair and a fab dietary supplement. You can enjoy healthy skin and deeply conditioned hair with this oil which you can find at high-end beauty stores.

Now, when is the best time to start using this miraculous oil? Let’s not wait until we are too old! When we start to age, our hair thins out gradually and the way to prevent this from happening (though it is inevitable, however it can be slowed down) is by nourishing it and keeping it in excellent condition. This is where argan moroccan oil comes in. With the vitamin E, omegas and carotene that it provides we can help our scalp maintain its health, stimulating blood flow, preventing hair loss and promoting new growth. Plus, the extra conditioning and smoothing of the strands is also a benefit that this oil can offer us. The best part of it is we can enjoy thick, healthy hair in a completely natural way.

There are certain times when it is best to use argan moroccan oil. For example, if you suffer from dry skin, you can use it as a moisturizer at night, applying a small amount (2 or 3 drops) to your face and neck in upward motions. Why at night? Because the argan oil can repair the dry skin uninterrupted while you sleep. With dry hair, do something similar. Rub a small amount of argan oil in your palms and apply it to your hair beginning at the ends, moving up to the scalp if you suffer dryness there also. Leave it in for half an hour, then wash out the oil with a soft shampoo for smooth, glossy locks. If your hair is particularly dry than leave the oil in overnight.

How to Prevent Hair Damage

Published by on October 6th, 2011

Do you suffer constantly from split ends, frizz and dryness? Do you know why? There are lots of different factors that can cause hair damage since we expose our locks every day.  How can we damage hair? By shampooing, heat styling, coloring, not eating  right, sun exposure, exposing hair to humidity and brushing or combing.

Inside the hair shaft, the damage affects the cuticle first, and as it is damaged it pulls away from the other layers, causing the shafts to break easily. Since the cuticle doesn’t lie flat, this creates hiding places for water making your hair harder to dry, plus light won’t be reflected making you lose shine. Additionally, the keratin along the hair shaft that is held together by different kinds of bonds, starts to come apart when these bonds break.

Now, how to prevent this kind of damage? Here are some tips to help your hair stay healthy and damage-free:

  • Try to avoid heat styling tools like hair dryers, curling irons and flat irons. If it’s absolutely necessary for you to use one of these heat tools then do so on the lowest setting (if the heat tool you own has adjustable settings) and use them for the least time possible. Remember you can leave your hair to air dry if you’re going to stay home all day.
  • On wet hair, use wide tooth combs only, because wet hair is much more vulnerable and can be stretched or broken.
  • Avoid perms and coloring especially if your hair tends to be damaged easily.
  • Stay away from chemicals like chlorine and keep your hair safe from salt water.
  • If you regularly expose yourself to the sun, remember to use UV protection
  • Get your hair trimmed regularly to get rid of split ends to prevent them from splitting up further up the hair shaft
  • Use thermal protectants like Pro Naturals Moroccan Oil to keep your locks safe from the heat of styling tools.

Cute Hairstyles for Short Hair

Published by on September 23rd, 2011

Who said short hair was limited when it comes to styling? There are plenty cute and sassy ‘dos to keep eyes on you if you have short locks. Here are a few ideas for you to try:

Cute curls

This is very easy to do. Run your hands through your clean and wet hair for a moment, twist your bangs and pin them to the top of your head with bobby pins, doing the same thing with the sides. Grab some gel and spike up the back, but don’t overdo it. Once your hair is dry, take out the bobby pins and enjoy the curls!

Short and curly updo

Take parts of your hair, twist them up and secure them to your head with clips. Accessorize with colorful clips if you like, making sure that the hair is clipped tightly so that the strands stay in place.

Polished short hair

Apply a golf ball-size amount of mousse to your damp hair and use a comb to make a deep side part. Smooth the hair on the heavy side part across your forehead and tuck the hair behind your ears while it air dries. You should have a polished, professional look. If you want it smoother, go over the hair with a flat iron for best results.

Headband

You can add this accessory to give the illusion of an updo. Perfect for special occasions! Just work in some mousse into your damp hair, then flip your head upside down and blast it with a hair dryer, simultaneously tousling your locks with your fingers. Place a 1 to 2 inch headband into your hair, or use a thicker one right over the hairline. Tease the hair behind the band so that it won’t slip. For a boost in shine, use a styling product, like Pro Naturals Moroccan Oil.

Fun and Easy Messy Hairstyles

Published by on September 22nd, 2011

Messy hairstyles are growing more and more popular by the day, but how do you accomplish a successful messy style without it looking sloppy? Messy styles are perfect for day-to-day activities and casual meets, especially when you have no time to create a polished look. When there’s not even a minute to spare, just work with ‘day-old’ hair, skip the shampoo and transform it into a stylish messy ‘do. As long as it’s not too greasy, it’ll be fine! Here are some ideas for you to try:

Loose, messy bun

If you have the length to spare, try one of these. You can make a loose, messy bun without the need for a brush, just your fingers! If your hair is tangled and unwashed, it will be perfect for this hairdo. Simply flip your head upside down and pull your hair into a high ponytail and secure it with an elastic band. Wrap the tail around the base until your hair has formed a bun, and fasten it to the base of the first elastic band with a second elastic or with bobby pins. Pull out a few locks to frame your face and you’re done!

Messy curly hair

With dry or just-washed hair, you can transform thick curls into a natural, glorious mess. To style dry curls, use your fingers or work in a light mouse to add more volume. On wet curls, absorb the excess moisture with a towel, flipping your head over and scrunching the curls to create body afterwards. Flip your head back up and use mousse if you want to add an extra boost in body.

Short, messy hair

If you have short to mid-length hair, use gel or mousse to create a messy style. Use a palm full of styling product on dry or just-washed hair. Rub your hands together with the mousse or gel and work it into your locks, tousling the hair until you have achieved the desired messiness.

If you want your hair to look healthy and shiny as well as messy, try Pro Naturals Moroccan Oil for better results.

With a little bit of texture balm, warm it up in your palms and thoroughly work it in your hair. DOn’t overdo the quantity, you don’t want to weigh your hair down with product. Flip your hair upside down and scrunch it, using a spritz of spray gel to prevent frizz.

Natural Waves

Apply some anti-frizz and leave-in conditioner to your wet hair. Pro Naturals Moroccan Oil can also work. Wrap your entire head in a towel to remove excess moisture without causing frizz. Leave the terry cloth on your head for a while and then unwrap it to let your hair air dry. You will have natural, hassle-free waves in no time!

Hollywood Waves

A very popular look among celebs during red carpet season, and you can do it yourself! Start with unwashed hair. If it’s looking greasy, grab some dry shampoo and sprinkle it on your roots. Spray the rest with styling spray and roll halfway up using hot rollers. The bigger the hot rollers, the more glamorous the style. While they’re still warm, spritz them with hair spray and take the curlers out straight away. Make a deep side parting and shake your locks out to loosen the curls.

Beachy Waves

the perfect easy going, tousled look for out-doorsie styles. Use a brightening shampoo to bring out your highlights (whether natural or not) and towel dry your hair. Apply some salt spray from roots to ends to create a beachy, surfer look. Finally, add some leave-in conditioner on the ends if they look dry or dull.

Short Waves

Add some wave-enhancing texture cream to your damp hair. Twist small locks around your finger and then wrap your head in a towel. Unwrap after 5 minutes and allow your hair to air dry. When your hair is completely dry, apply some shine spray.

How to Take Care of Your Hair

Published by on September 2nd, 2011

You can express yourself in many ways through your hair, but what can you hope to express with dry, damaged locks? Hair care is important if you want to look your best, so here are a few pointers you should ponder when it’s time to take care of your tresses.

Wash less frequently

We’re not saying you should go for weeks without washing your hair, but if you wash it every day you can reduce the condition of both hair and scalp. Washing hair often can strip away the natural oils your scalp produces, and what you get is greasy hair because your scalp will over-produce oils to try and make up for the loss. The temperature of the water makes a difference too; if it’s too hot it can damage your hair, so keep it lukewarm. Also, avoid the over-use of hair products, that way you won’t need to wash your locks so often. Try and find shampoos and conditioners with natural ingredients instead of chemicals such as sulphates which are more harmful. A deep treatment once every week in addition to shampoo and conditioner can really give your hair a boost and help it recover.

Protection from heat styling tools

Always use a thermal protectant before using your hair dryer, flat iron or curling iron. Avoid all silicone based hair products, these can fuse to your hair and take the moisture out of it when you heat style. When blow drying your hair, apply the thermal protectant and comb it in gently with your fingers when your hair is about 50 percent dry, then use the hair dryer on a low or medium heat. If you want to add an anti frizz product, do so after styling, not before. Using Pro Naturals Moroccan Oil can help your hair out a lot when you want to protect it from heat styling tools and keep it smooth. If you can, and if your hair has suffered much damage, avoid using heat styling tools.

Avoid coloring often

Don’t dye your hair too frequently, do it only when you need to. If you really want to dye your hair again, use colors that don’t contain bleach because you can really damage your hair. Hair dyes come with many harsh chemicals that can dry your hair and make it brittle, the ideal thing would be to stop coloring altogether and leaving your hair natural. If the damage is too much you can cut your hair short and wait for it to grow while constantly looking after it. The damage will be reduced to the ends of your hair which can later be trimmed.

Eat the right food

What you eat can influence the growth and condition of your hair. If you don’t eat your hair will suffer because a malnourished body won’t waste precious nutrients on your hair. Eat plenty of protein (not too much) like meat and eggs for hair growth and repair, omega 3 fatty acids like oily fish and almonds. Vitamins are great for hair, especially vitamin B6 (potatoes, spinach and bananas) and B12 (found in lamb, beef, eggs and cheese). Drink lots of water! Your hair requires hydration and your skin won’t complain either.

Environment

External factors can harm your hair but this can be avoided with preventive measures. Go out with a hat or bandanna if the sun is hot, or use a product designed to protect your hair from the UV rays. Avoid products that use alcohol! Try to avoid overly polluted and smoke filled areas, your hair can dry out and accumulate dirt faster. When swimming use a leave-in conditioner to protect your locks from the chlorine, or simply use a swimming cap.
